How high do we lift our feet when we walk? I blew up an Eadweard Muybridge photo of a man with his foot at the highest point in the walk cycle. Then I pretended I was Rod Lord and traced it onto a piece of acetate.

I taped the acetate to a television monitor, attached the monitor to a camera, and pointed the camera at Moss' legs. Now I could see one set of legs superimposed over the other set, and simply adjusted both camera and puppet until they matched.

The checkerboard-like thing is a ten centimetre by ten centimetre scale bar, so that measurements can be read off the resulting photo.
